I am not huge on monkeys.
However, I am curious and the prospect of seeing some squirrel monkeys up and close was a bit exciting. So when I walked into their enclosure I was equally thrilled and respectfully scared, because they are still wild after all.
But it’s hard not to like them. Passed out just sleeping in the middle of the pathway, curling up. It’s pretty adorable.
Now, there were plenty of rules, no bags, don’t feed them, and above all don’t touch them!
But as I lowered my camera to get a better shot, one monkey came over and decided to break the most important rule. Examining my camera with its tiny monkey hands it also decided to briefly hold my thumb. Heart melted…
